  • Why should I hire a Mobile Mechanic?
Hiring a mobile mechanic allows you to complete tasks while you are at home or work. This service saves you time and allows you to maintain your vehicle without the inconvenience of waiting at a shop or asking for rides.
  • How long will the repair or service take?
At Clever Automotive will inform you how long to expect when it comes to servicing or repairing you vehicle.
  • Can I have the diagnosis & repair made at the same time?
Often times we are able to inspect/diagnose your vehicle and make the necessary repairs in the same day if you choose. In some scenarios we may have to order parts, or schedule a time to make the repairs.
  • Is it cheaper to hire a mobile mechanic compared to going to a shop?
It most defiantly can save you money. However, it is extremely important to be sure the one you hire is experienced, honest, and capable to take care of your vehicles needs. There are so many dishonest and or non-professional "Mechanics & shops" these days. Do your research, ask questions, be informed.

  • Does the brand of automotive parts really matter?
We always suggest choosing a quality part for the repair. However, there are several options these days. At Clever Automotive we will help you decide what is the best parts for you. Example: If you don't plan on keeping the vehicle for longer than a year then maybe you wouldn't want to pay the price for a part that typically would last 10+ years.
  • Is there a Mobile Mechanic near Nixa, MO?
Yes, we are Clever Automotive. We offer a mobile automotive repair & diagnostics service for the Nixa, Clever, Republic, Springfield and Ozark areas.
  • Why do I get a different diagnosis?
We always suggest picking a mechanic you can trust. An experienced mechanic/technician will always charge for them to perform the proper testing & diagnostic procedures to diagnose your vehicles problem correctly. If the diagnostics/testing are free they are probably just reading the code(s) and guessing what needs to be done. For example: Let's say your vehicle has set a code for the engine temperature is out of normal operating range. It doesn't mean the coolant temp sensor is defective. It could be that your thermostat isn't performing as it should, the cooling fan is bad, your engine's coolant could be low, you could have air within the cooling system because maybe your radiator has been leaking or even the water pump. This is why hiring an experienced Technician/Mechanic to diagnose what the actual cause is.
  • Is it okay to drive with the check engine light on?
It's always a good idea to have your vehicle diagnosed when any warning light comes on. Sometimes the warning light can be on for a minor problem that may not effect the performance and or safety of operating the vehicle. However, it could be a problem that is concerning. Once the light is on, future faults & problems may arise but you will not have a warning as the light was already illuminated.
  • How often should I change spark plugs in my vehicle?
Most vehicles have a 30,000/60,000/100,000/120,000 mile service interval on spark plug replacement. Depending on your vehicles ignition system requirements will determine the interval. Generally, if your vehicle requires an Iridium spark plug it will have an 100,000/120,000 mile service life. Whereas many vehicles that require a copper spark plug may only have a 30,000/60,000 mile service life.
  • How do I know if my vehicle is safe to drive?
If you are uncertain if your vehicle is safe to drive please don't operate the vehicle. It's always best to have a trusted mechanic inspect your vehicle and allow them to confirm if it is or isn't safe. Most often it will save you money and time to have it checked out versus taking the risk without knowing.
  • How often should my engine coolant be changed?
Most vehicle manufactures suggest changing your engine coolant every 100,000 miles. Here at Clever Automotive we suggest having your engine coolant inspected and tested every year. We also suggest replacement of your engine coolant before your vehicle develops leaks or overheating issues. The engine coolant breaks down over time and will loose its lubricity & ability to protect your engines seals such as the water pump. Just by exchanging our coolant can prolong the life & performance of your water pump, thermostat, and radiator.
